Dato Ir. Janang Bungsu was recognized at the ASEAN Sarawak Business and Economic Forum (ASBEF) 2025 with the ASEAN Distinguished Business Leader Excellence Award, acknowledging his leadership and contributions to the business community.
The forum, held on 28 February 2025 at the Riverside Majestic Hotel in Kuching, was jointly organized by the ASEAN Economic Club, ASEAN Business Club, and KSI – Strategic Institute for Asia Pacific. It brought together key stakeholders, industry leaders, and policymakers to discuss economic developments and regional collaboration.
ASBEF 2025 focused on Sarawak’s role within the Brunei–Indonesia–Malaysia–Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA), highlighting opportunities for deeper regional cooperation. Discussions also անդրlined the strategic implications of Indonesia’s new capital, Nusantara, and its impact on bilateral relations between Indonesia and Malaysia, as well as the broader regional economy.
The forum served as a platform for sharing insights on emerging trends, challenges, and investment opportunities across the region. It encouraged meaningful dialogue and collaboration among participants to better understand the evolving economic landscape.
A highlight of the event was the presentation of awards to distinguished leaders for their achievements and contributions. Among the أبرز honorees was Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, who received the 2024 World Outstanding Muslim Leader of the Year Award.
